Lack of research i guess.... HELP!

Ok so I bought this HD for my g/f's computer...

I didnt look to see if her MOBO was SATA compatible and its not. So I hear I can get a SATA card or something. Fill me in guys and any suggestions on what one I should get?

This might work but you'd have to run the cable from the inside of the computer out some how. You could always return the hard drive. I'm not sure if this card will work with a SATA 3.0 or not? Anyone else back me up?

I already opened the HD and took it out of the bag I dont think they will take it back will they? I would rather just get the card if its not to expencive I just need to make sure I get all that I need this time.

That card will run a SATA 3.0 GB/S but will only run it at-- "Data Transfer Rate 150 MB/s"

Also, they will take it back but you have to pay a restocking fee and have everything that came with it.

yeah the transfer will be miserable... I would send it back for the one that is compatible...

Oh you mean the transfer rate. Well can't I get a better card that will transfer faster? I really like this HD and dont want to have to pay the restocking fee lol. Also it will bring it up to date even more.

Ok so I saw that almost all of the cards under $50 are 150mb/s. Ok I think I will get this one instead... What do you guys think??

Or the quality route: PROMISE Sata300 TX2 Plus PCI SATA Controller Card $42.99.



The Seagate drive you linked to is an excellent choice.
