Good Cpu?

Are Pentium D 915/920s any good at playing games such as day of defeat and counterstrike? I have a nice vid card and was wondering if that CPU is any good?

it's definitely good enough for those games.
And games don't really want much from the cpu anymore, ram and vid card are more important.

true... counterstrike isn't a very demanding game, comps 5 years old could probably have enuff stuff to play it

Sure they are good ,and fast enough,Do a little ocing and they power good.

some boards do, Some dont,It depends on the board,different boards will oc better than others.

the general rule is that if you buy a separate mobo you can oc. If you buy a prebuilt computer you can't. And yes, some do oc better than others.

how do i know if you can over clock.

I have a gigabyte 945 something something something........

go to the bios and see if you can change the fsb

That processor is plenty fast enough to play most of todays games.
