I have a Dane-Elec 512MB Jump Drive (USB) and I am down a friends house and I am trying to get it to work and when i plug it into the back of the computer, it does nothing like on windows xp it works immediately but my friend is on WIndows 98 SE and it won't work. WHat can I do? We really need to get it working because I have files on there vital to what we are doing today... which is another story (getting a windows xp/2000 ipod to work on 98, but I think i got that resolved for now  )

First thing is to make sure USB is enabled in BIOS, next thing is to check device manager and see if the USB ports etc are there. Then ya best bet would be to install the drivers manually. USB isnt as easy to setup on 98 as it is on XP.

Yeah, I sorted it out after... I'm just a complete idiot when it comes to Windows 98 and Windows 95, but I installed the Dane Elec drivers and after installing like 4 or 5 different ones it finally worked.
