Windows XP can only recognize 2gb of ram?

So does Windows XP only recongnize 2gb of ram, or is able to use 2gb... and if you have anything over 2gb then its kind of useless? And Vista will be able to do 4gb?

no. windows xp recognizes 4. thats the 32 bit version. i think the 64 bit version supports 32gb or something. but vista supports like 32 i think.

ooo i have the 32 bit i think.......... do you just have to have a 64 bit processor for 64 right? I have a AMD Athlon64 x2 Dual Core 3800+ does that support 64bit version?

yes but you will have problems with drivers for usb devices and stuff if u go with 64 bit version of windows xp cuz nobody feels like making 64 bit drivers. stick with 32bit
