I am planning on getting a new monitor but was wondering whats the difference between LCD and CRT besides the size difference. I am a gamer like most ppl with computers and was wondering what is better for me. any comments or thoughts are appreciated. :)

Get LCD. They look sooo much better. Both are around the same price, a nice 19" LCD is around $200, you can't go wrong. The argument used to be that the response times for LCDs were much higher, which causes ghosting, but nowadays, that isn't a problem.

I'd recommend one of these 2 LCDs:
20.1" widescreen - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824112006

19" -

EDIT:
Also, I forgot to mention, when the size of the monitor is measured, for LCDs it only counts the viewable area, but for CRTs it counts both the viewing area and the "frame", so a 19" LCD has bigger viewable area than a 19" CRT.

And to add to Freestyler's post....they are just much notably clearer than CRT, this pc only has CRT, but my other has a beautiful LCD and its brilliant...you will see people are buying them as TV's even now..

Yeah, that's a really nice monitor if you really want the 2 ms response time, but it's pretty expensive for only 19 inches. You can get a nice big widescreen for cheaper than that.

its only $260 after the $20 rebate plus $10 off instantly, so it snot to bad a deal

thanks guys I was leaning toward LCD anyways to save some space on desk and the sexy look lol
