Yeah man, got it working with one computer running XP pro in this house, got a little fake domain goin, it's mint..

Just need to *get* Windows XP PRO on the other machines..

Can home just upgrade to PRO, CBA reinstalling everything..

One major disadvantage of a domain is the speed difference however, unless you are running high end servers on a gigabit network.

I was thinking of getting gigabit.. what about a low end server, on a gigabit internet, IE, Pentium 4, 2.5Ghz, 512BMB RAM?

Not bad, but still likely going to be 1/2 the speed of a modern hard drive.
