fan speed controller?

i had another 'exhaust' fan as i guess you'd call it, i don't remember how big it was but its in there hanging by paperclips...does pretty good; lowers temps by about 5C. but it is way too loud! i can only put in 2 big fans, and one is controlled by how much CPU is being used and the one i put in is on full blast all the time. SPEEDFAN is out of the question..it does absolutely nothing.

Well then you need a fan speed controller, something like this:

how does speedfan work for some people...i guess my mother board doesn't support that stuff?
