Installing upgrade version of XP on VMware

I tried installing WinXP but it says it has to be a "full version" CD. I have a valid upgrade version. Is there any way to get around this?

You can not do a clean install of WinXP using an upgrade disc.

I just use the one that came with my old HP computer cuz its SP2 and yeah..

Well, if you bought the retail upgrade disc, you will need an older CD (Windows 98/2000/ME...ot sure for 95) in order to make it work. If you don't have it, return the CD and buy the Full retail version.

Yeah thats correct, although 95 isnt an upgrade option for XP

Well, I got it now

95 can have the full install to XP, but no upgrades. (32-bit apps runs on 95, compared to 3.1)
