There are actually a lot of resources online, especially for C++, that you could use aside from that book. I don't have any personal experience with the book but I would guess that one could easily get by without it (because I did). But then again I also wasn't simply teaching it to myself. If you are sure you want to buy the book why not go to Amazon.com and order it and have it sent right to your house? That beats the time spent to go out and buy it plus you will more than likely save money by buying it online rather than a physical store.
