I'm looking to buy a new graphics card but I don't know how to find one that is compatable with my motherboard. I currently have a Dell OptiPlex GX260 and I'm not exactly sure what kind or how many ports I have. I don't want to buy anything that won't be capatible.

Some help would be appriciated. Thanks.

AGP bus protocols - 4x modes at 1.5 V

It appears there are several models of board used in that pc, you'd need to open the case and get the model number off the board

Until we know which model number board it is and if it does infact have an AGP slot then the answer would be - no

Actually I misread the specs

Small form-factor computer expansion-card connectors: one PCI slot and one AGP slot; low-profile cards are supported (card size = 6.35 cm [2.5 inches] high by 16.76 cm [6.6 inches] long)

Small desktop computer expansion-card connectors: two PCI slots and one AGP slot; half-length cards are supported (card size = 10.67 cm [4.2 inches] high by 17.65 cm [6.95 inches] long)

Small mini-tower computer expansion-card connectors: four PCI slots and one AGP slot (card sizes = three PCI slots support cards up to 27.9 cm [11 inches] long, and one PCI slot and the AGP slot support cards up to 22.9 cm [9 inches] long

They all have AGP slots, which form factor do you have? there's not much room in there, you'll need to be real careful of the physical size of the AGP card you choose.

so a card like this would work in my computer? I'm just looking for a little upgrade. Nothing huge. I heard nVidia has the best so...

look at the link not hard to fix:
Code:
http://http//www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7727365&type=product&id=1140391860712
should be
www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7727365&type=product&id=1140391860712

and no it wont work its PCI-E

this would be a good card for you its cheap, and i'm pretty sure it will work with your computer and it might even be small enough to fit in your TIGHT case. I'm pretty sure the entire optiplex series are the small desktop things that sit horizontal on the desk.
