Modem glitch

I have a normal dsl modem and when I turn it on it takes a while to boot up. After it has booted up it disconnects with the ethernet connection to the computer, it does this evertime I turn the modem on. Sometimes it'll just completely cut out and reboot itself. It shits me up the wall. I just wanna know what could be wrong with it and what I could do to fix it.

You may have a bad modem on hand. Have you tried contacting your ISP? They can run online diagnostic to your modem. If the problem still exist, they will come out and install a new modem.
