123MB AVI file turns to 950MB file!! ?? HELP

I downloaded a movie and it says its 123MB. I wanted to put it on a CD(VCD or SVCD).When I put it on Nero to transfer it to the CD, it shows the whole capacity bar pretty maxed out (around 950MB)...but it was 123MB. Why is this. How can I fix it and put it on a CD?

Sounds like ya converting it to a VCD or something to me. What software are ya using?

Nero v6

Well its converting it to MPEG so ya can play it on ya player, so thats why its a larger file. AVI has better compression
