The sound quality is very good, there is no degradation in the sound quality. I'm using about a 10 foot rca cable. It sounds just the same as if it were coming out of my pc speakers.

I just plug the 3.5mm jack into the microphone socket on the sound card and us 'Audacity 1.3' to record and edit

dude, i knew that a long time ago already...but i rather go with the wires..
