cd dvd drive burning slower that it used to..

i don't know what happened but my cd dvd drive is burning way much slower than it used to do...
i'm using windows xp
any suggestions what could happened ?

same kind of cds/dvds as before?
Also, check your burning softwares settings and make sure there isn't any limits to the speed of the drive.

yeah it's the same cd -dvds as before ...
and the thing is that when i put cd or dvd my E drive doesn't give me pop up window to choose what option i want to do?
i think that might be related problem ....but i don't know..
could it be up to nero program?

Well, it also depends what you're doing in the background as well. You may use more programs than before and that disturbs the transfer.

Although, the main problem may be with Nero. I remember on my other PC, the memory read buffer wnt down to 0% then jumped at 100 again. Try a differet program, like Oront or Roxio. See if it still does it.

i have always used Roxio, and it does what it's suppose to..it gives you recording speeds in real time, but everyone has his or her own prefrences. i also know that using a program that you accually paid for helps.
