Need Help Quickly Please

Ok, im working on my first build. When i had everything set i booted it up. It went into BIOS and says BOOT FROM CD: DATA CANNOT BE FOUND; PLEASE INSERT SYSTYEM DISK. Or something similar to that. I thin kthat means its not gathering data from my hard drive? I really need help......

Have ya got an operating system installed on ya HDD. If not then have ya got a bootable CD in your drive. If its a new build then there wont be anything on ya HDD to start with, ya need to install the operating system

Its my old harddrive. It has Windows XP adn everything already on it.

And you have connected this to a new motherboard etc? It wont work because XP detects that ya hardware has changed

Ys everything is connected properly.........what do i do? I thought this would work because everything was installed on the old HD

and yea its a new Mobo, Grfx card, CPU

yeah u need to reinstall windows

Heres a link, now take a look, But skip to the very bottom at the final word part. Work thru that, if it dont work then try the full thing ok. If they both fail it will need a clean install mate
