I noticed dell is having some big sales lately and wondered if you guys have any suggestions to improve this kind of laptop:

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5500 (1.66GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB)
15.4 inch UltraSharpâ„¢ Wide Screen WXGA+ Display with TrueLifeâ„¢
2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHZ, 2 DIMM
120GB 5400rpm SATA Hard Drive
8X CD/DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability edit
128MB ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1300 HyperMemory™ edit
Integrated Audio

I was planning on using it for mostly music downloading, aim, iTunes, and Mozilla Firefox

Looks really good to me actually. What can you update on it, if anything?
I'm hopefully going to get a lappy soon with the Core 2 DUO onboard :D

For what you want to do, those specs will defintely work--plus more. You can play virtually any game with that setup. Get it....or I'll take it from you, hehe.

I have a compaq presario 2100 and i'm sick of its b.s. always freezing. I usually keep the Norton crap disabled so that all the ram desnt get used up and i can actually semi-multi task.
Oh, i forgot to mention its a Dell Inspiron R1405 for $940.

why not format your current laptop? it will run faster. nothing against the inspiron though :)

buy it....now!!!!!!!

Well, my current laptop is still under warranty and i could get a new battery, and touchpad for it, but the ram for it is very hard to find for some reason 266ghz is very rare. Otherwise i don't know what else i could do to improve it.
