I am upgrading to Core2 with pci-e SLI 7600gt cards and wondered, since I dont have the money, would by curren 184pin DDR be back-compatible with the 200-pin slots on the new boards? Or it wont work? I just dont have 200 bucks for 2gig of DDR2 yet...

won't work. U need ddr2 ram for a ddr2 mobo.

then just buy one 1GB stick of DDR2 for $100 and get the other later.

or get 512Mb for $50 until you can afford the rest
