Questions about building from scratch?

Well I want to thank you for recommending newegg to me. Most of the components were $10 bucks cheaper there! Although Tigerdirect has a special going on with there e6600 thats priced at $314.99 vs $312.99 at newegg however you get a free 1gb mp3 with it ;)

Well heres my selection so far. I spent about 1 hr comparing video cards and i'm exhausted lol. So as far as pipelines are concerened I want at least 12? I would really prefer 512mb would I really get better performance out of a 256mb card with a higher clock and more pipelines? Plus it has to be vista 64bit compatible.

Well here it is so far

PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817152026

So adding this up minus shipping my total came to $1183.94 vs AVA direct comming in at $1158.43 S$H included. Note no video card added yet to either total.

So for $25.51 more I get 180 more watts on my power supply vs the standard 450psu that comes standard on avadirects site. I also get a 1gb mp3 free. And I get a $30 mail in rebate which actually lowers the total to being positive $5.51.

I'm thinking its a better deal to buy piece by piece. After i've selected a handful of video cards i'll post all them up and see which you guys think is my best option. Thanks again.
