well i have a friend that wants to get a new graphics card and he needs to find out if he has a pci express, pci, or agp slot on his motherboard. the only thing is his parents are a little scared of him opening up the computer.
so is there a way to see what type of slot he has with out opening up the computer.

the only things i thought up was to find out what current card he has and look it up to see what slot it uses, or look up motherboard in system specs and searching to see what slot it has.

Look up the boards specs on the internet

Run SiSoftSandra or similar diagnostic

What pc / board is it?

checking it from the mobo is better since some cards have both agp and pci-e or pci versions. But seriously, just open the case and look. How could he even brake anything when just opening the case? :D But eventually he will need to open the case anyway if he wants to put the vid card in.

And also tell him to check that the psu has enough power to run the new vid card. And u probably want to open the case when checking for the psu wattage. :p
