So I'm looking at my computer settings and it says my processor is 2.01GHz. Isn't that pretty low? I have the 3800+ x2 Dual Core and was just woundering if this is correct.

Thanks

For an Athlon, no. For a Pentium, yes. It's a whole different architecture. Don't make me explain how it works, because I'll end up saying something incredibly stupid. :p Something about the integrated memory controller...someone finish the story

The 3800+ and 3800+ X2 run at different frequencies if you didn't know. The 4600+ X2 (what I have) has the same numbers as the single core 3800+.

Yes. They are two physical CPUs in the X2 CPU than the original 3800+.

But, some applications aren't using the two CPUs, but it will be fixed in newer versions of everything. If a program uses one CPU, then the 3800+=X2 3800+
If they have the knowledge to use two, then 3800 does not equal to X2 3800+.

Yup, I've always been a fan of AMD. I just like their procs more. Just like the other posters have said, AMD operates on a different ghz. Dont let the numbers throw you off!
