Hey guys, despite my problems from an earlier post...I'm building a new comp. All the parts are from NEWEGG, because I like their fast shipping.

This build is gonna run me at $900 and I feel that its a substantial upgrade from my old socket 754 system. I did my research and I feel all the parts are compatible but if any of you comp guru's see any red flags please post! I'm just worried that the MOBO curse will fall upon me and I'll be RMA'ing like a champ.

BTW, is there a specific build process some of you guys like to use to ensure that every part is working as intended?

everything looks good, but unless you plan on going DX10 which is mighty expensive, I would suggest you get a single 7600GT or 7900GT

wow, you guys are right about the eVGA GeForce 7600. Better specs and better price, too bad I already ordered one 6800... Maybe I can contact newegg and change it asap. Good catch guys!

depending on when u ordered it u can check ur 'order status' at the bottom of the page, and if there's a cancel button next to your order u can cancel it

Unfortunately my 6800 has been shipped. I'm just gonna return it for a refund and order the eVGA 7600. I cant pass on the performance and price, I will feel like I cheated myself. haa

I hope you got a CPU FAN and Heatsink for the Proc it does not come with one....

Yup, I got a fan/heatsink along with some artic silver. Unfortunately newegg will charge me a restock fee of 15% if I refund the xfx 6800xt. Will there be a huge performance difference between that and the vEGA 7600? I believe I read somewhere that a single vEGA 7600 will outperform the xfx 6800xt in SLI.

yep the 15% IS WORTH it the 7600 is a monster :)

but i doubt its a big enough monster to outperform 2X 6800Xts in SLI

But definetly get the 7600 man

call ups and refuse the delivery... they will have to return it to newegg, where you will be credited with the money back.
