hey guys

wondering if you can help

how would I set up my PC/Laptop to only allow users to access certain parts of the PC. i.e they can only use programs I specify and I can decide whether or not they can access the internet. Adding a few users to my windows XP and need to limit what they can actually do

any suggestions? x

Set up limited user accounts

If you do as Raffaz says, set the user accounts that you want to restrict as limited user accounts in control panel. Then, go to the files in Windows Explorer that you want to restrict and in their properties set them so only administrators can access them.

Or, if you're using XP Pro, go to properties, then you can encrypt the files (under advanced). No one except you will be able to access the files.

you can also go one step further and have encryption software to put passwords on files and folders.
