dvd burner problem

ok so heres the deal

i have a lg dvd burner, and a while ago i deleted nero because i didnt think i used it (not knowing my dvd burning software actually used nero)

then my computer stopped recognizing my cd/dvd drive

so i asked my friend if he knew what to do and he told me to do this to the registry:

but that didnt work, so i gave up for a short time

a while later i saw that the new version of windows media player was out so i downloaded it

magically my cd/ dvd burner worked again

except for the fact that i cant burn dvd's because "dvd shrink" needs nero to burn them

so i try to reinstall nero but it says the destination registry cant be found


so im stuck and im really lost without my dvd burner
