What are you talking about? Are you saying power metal is Gothic rock?.. because that is the LAST thing stratovarius or hammerfall fit into.

Gothic = Power with female vocals.

CoB are a blend of Power, Thrash and Death with a huge Melodic structure. They fit into the genre BODOM.

I can't believe that nobody has mentioned System of a Down... fair enough they are really mainstream now, but they are still easily one of the best (if not the best) melodic Metal bands.

S.O.A.D. is only good to me on two of their albums: Toxicity and Steal This Album.

I find that Mezmerize and Hynotize suck.
