if possible either try and upgrade ram, try crucial.com or try and install an earlier os

Boot into DOS and type MEM, that will tell ya

ok look, on the back of the laptop will be 2 thingies you can unscrew and look under. one of them will be the ram. it will say DDR1 probably.. and have a number on there. 256..512.. probably no more than that.

thats your ram.. tell us that

also, has that laptop had any other OS's installed?

I would be suprised if it had 128..I would say more like 64. Put Windows 98SE, or 2000 on it, Windows XP on a P3 is bad enough, never mind Pentium 2!
