Is there a shortcut I can create to log off of XP?
We have multiple accounts on my XP media center machine and I would like to create a shortcut to log off with one click (on desktop or quick launch bar) rather than start\log off\log off.

Any help would be appreciated..........thanks!

Make a shortcut to:
"Shutdown.exe -L" ( I think that should work )

If that doesnt work, try the full address, and make a shotcut to:
"%windir%\system32\Shutdown.exe -L"

Jamie.

Holy Crap...........you guys are awesome!

I used Jamie's suggestion "%windir%\system32\Shutdown.exe -L" and made a shortcut in the quick launch toolbar. Works like a champ!

Raffaz,
Your suggestion makes it switch users but not log off...........very useful when needed though.

Thanks to the both of you.......... ;)

how do you make a shortcut to those?
Right click on your desktop and click new > shortcut. Then put one of those addresses as the link for the shortcut and you should be all set.

how come people log off? i just switch users, that way all ur programs are still running and u dont have to load anything when u wanna use ur computer next.
