During that time I took part in many national competitions, (if anyone has ever seen the film Brassed Off, yes there really are natioanl brass band competitions). Many regional competitions, and concerts, and went on tour with the band to france twice and to Germany once.
I never owned my Own instrument though, (if anyone cares to search for BBb Bass (4valve), then they'd realise that at ~£5,000 it's a little prohibative for a 13 year old to buy one! so when I left the band, it meant that I stopped playing completly... I could have went to a different band, but it's a pain to find a band, and get to regular practises, and also a pain to have to change registration details.
Anyway... I also play bass guitar and regular guitar...
