try making sure that nothing is set to start when the PC boots up. Go to start, run and type MSCONFIG and then go to startup and see if anything suspicious is lurking. Another thing to try is sophos anti-rootkit. you can download it here: http://www.sophos.com/products/free-tools/sophos-anti-rootkit/download/ that might help fing anything that's in your PC that other scanners might miss. Also try the AVG anti-rootkit beta, I use it and it's actually pretty decent:http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/AVG-Anti-Rootkit.shtml

Your AV should have picked that up, my AVG puts them in it's vault, no problem.
