Is there any way to update Windows Xp pro (the corporate edition), because microsoft blocked the cd-keys used in the corporate versions from updates. So I'm stuck with the the critical updates. This isn't a pirated version. Anyone know how to get the updates in manually or something?

http://windowsupdate.62nds.com/ is pretty good. Think of it as a Windows update for firefox, one that does not complain about cd-keys.

Alternately, you could use nLite (www.nliteos.com) and integrate all of them (you can download a zip full of the updates, after integrating them, you could just install windows using a new burn and have all of the updates already there.

Ok, but it didnt download the Service Packs for me. I also kind of want to get Directx 9.0c which i've been having touble with. I'm not sure if I finally installed it or not (how do you check?). Do you think "http://searchwincomputing.techtarget.com/tip/0,289483,sid68_gci1109890,00.html?int=off&Offer=WSYLBxptip" would be safe to do, that way i could update everything the way it's intended to be updated?
Update: Also the problem with the second site that you suggested is the fact that it requires the .Net Framework which I have to have a retail version of windows xp to install :-/.

TO check your direct X version.

1.go to START
2.go to RUN
3. type the command "dxdiag"

in the system information box at the bottom it says direct x version

this is also a great way to check out system specs.

good luck

Lamb of god.

Microsoft has not blocked corporate serials from doing windows update. You most likely have a pirated copy. We use pro corp at work, and we are able to do updates just fine.
