Intel's quad-core Core 2

Moore's Law. ;) New processor technology every two years, and Intel is following it. In 2008, they'll be going 45nm with the Nehalem and 32nm with Gesher in 2010. :D

Quad core? How about having 8 cores? Totally possible and upcoming in the very near future. I say within the next 5 years.
Or 80...Intel announced that. I'm preety sure it own't happen, but who knows?

Well it could've gotten that high, but you need to think logically. :p Think about it...Ken Kutaragi said that the PS3 will be capable of 100FPS and will have a "4D" online "matrix." Gotta love Sonyisms.

Intel will bring its first ever quad core chips to market in a new line of HP workstations due to be introduced on November 13, 2006. Core 2 Quad version for mainstream desktops in the first quarter of 2007. Then we'll look forward to DDR3 in 2008 most likely.
