I want to take the singing out of some audio, My father said audio has layers and some programs can extract these layers! Does anyone know of a program that can do this?

Audio doesn't have layers. As soon as its compliled into an MP3 or WAVE, it loses the layers that may have been used when creating.

On the other hand, you can have audio programs that do cut out singing. It tends to work by cutting out a certain band of frequency and loudness that would probably be singing.

For this reason, most programs don't do it efficently, but some programs work okay.

Aren't there decompilers? But that would be complicated as well...

Nope... Once an audio file is an audio file, it stays that way. It has 1 layer, or multiple I guess if its surround.

Midi is just data, that could be brought back to layers. So could MOD's, but audio that isn't needing something to decompile it? No.
