So, I have been given the task bringing up a building to the 21st century. This involves a completly new network and a few new PC's. I got most of my idea's down except a few.
What we will be buying is a new 24 port smart switch, 2 wireless access points, 250+ gig network attatched storage (SMB with NTSF file permissions), New router / firewall, print server, 3X laptops, 3X projectors, 3X wall mount 100" screens, 1X rollup 100" screen, 2X desktop PC's 5X microsoft office license and USB drives gallore.
What I am really stuck on is the network attatched storage. I need a standalone unit with support for SMB protocol and it must support NTSF file permissions. I was almost thinking the maxtor NAS units.
Another thing I am stuck on is the router / firewall, I want to aim at around $300 level, which isnt enough to buy me a Cisco PIX. I dont want home level routers, and I want them to be able to meet NSA security standards.
Third thing I also need is a print server that handles 3+ printers. I believe 2 outta 3 printers are paralell. I may need invididual print servers.
I will post a list of what I have decided for some products already.
