What makes the Athlon 64 so good?

Yeah, there aren't many multithreaded applications and games yet, so single-core processors won't be obsolete for a while.

K8 is obselete, AMD has tweaked it as much as possible. They are going to need to go back to square one again. Now, before you argue with me. Think about what a K8 really is. I've said this many times, but i dont think you guys get it. Now, lets break it down.

What is the BIGGEST difference between a K7 and a K8?
Integrated Memory Controller.
Now, that's not the only thing AMD added to the K7 architecture. They also added longer pipelines, a few instruction tweaks here and there. And done! a K8.

I'm pretty content with my current set up now. Doom3, UT2004, and Quake 4 all play fine at max rez.Core duo and Sli is in my future though.
