Easier way to change an IP address?

My problem lies in the fact that when I take my laptop to work I use a specific IP address to access the internet. When I go home for the evening and plug into my home network I am given an IP address by my router, via DCHP.

So twice a day I have to go into my winXP network settings and change my IP address.

Is there an easier way to do this? For example, create two connections and just choose which one to use depending on my location? It's cumbersome to have to go into 2-3 menus and manually type or delete the IP address.

Ok So If you write a bat file to automatically release and then renew your ip adress then you should just have to run it once you get home from work and you should be good to surf the net

Do you know how to write bat files?

I'm sure there has to be some easy way to make a "network profile" or something that I can easily switch back and forth from.

Work has certain settings, home has other settings. Does an easier way not exact than to manually do it every time?
