well hopefully, it's just a bad connection between the dvd drive/ide cable
then again it could be a midnight attacker of dvd drives, i'm lucky, i only have a cd-rw. lmao.

I've had this happen before actually. The plugs sometimes get pinched in there, and slide out, and since it's held on failry tight, when it slides out it pops, and poof, cords pops out.

or it could be that your mobo has a mind of it's own, and does not want the DVD burned hooked to it...but on the real, i would just zip tie the cord to the mobo carefully so that it does not pop off again.
