CoD2 crashing?

Hey,

Does anybody know whether there are compatibility issues with the GeForce 6500 256mb gfx card and Call of Duty 2? Im asking this as i THINK, and am pretty sure that i could get the game running with my onboard graphics card (nFORCE430 GeForce 6100) and the game would run, but slowly......however i have since put back in my 6500 and when the game loads, an error saying "DirectX encountered an error" pops up and the game closes.
All help is much appreciated

Specs:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ (@ 2.39ghz)
Kingston DDR2 533 2X512mb RAM (Dual channel)
nVIDIA GeForce 6500 256mb
Gigabyte GA-M55PLUS-S3G
Windows XP Professional

Hm.. do you have Directx 9.0c installed?

Yep, that was the first thing i checked, even reinstalled it to be sure.

All up to date....and i reinstalled them just before too. lol

Well, I suppose you could try reinstallnig CoD2.. though I don't see how that could help.. you could also try scanning your system for viruses or any other possible malicious ware... i'll have to think about this one...

lol, i have reinstalled it numerous times now, and just 2 days ago i checked for viruses.....i know its weird eh...

Or you could roll back some of the drivers... see if that fixes anything.
