I just seen that you're from NZ Evil, must be a kiwi thing a tidy start menu ;) :D (ex Whakatane here)

Haha, yeah it must be. I don't like anything to messy, it annoys me when I go to find something, but can't remember what it's called. Much easier with categories.

Whakatane eh?, Nice place. Got friends living there actually. My girlfriends living over a few of the hills east in Gisborne at the moment, also a awesome place.

Hello Every One

This is my start menu. Hope everyone likes it ;)

Off and on, I hate programs that mess around with startup registry, without informing user - ie real player, quicktime. My pc takes a while to load windows (when you get the blue progress bar inside rounded rectangle at startup). But i have quite a good CPU (3.4ghz with ht) with 2gb ram (DDR - not sure of speed). Some times I tidy up my machine (ive got 200+ ie favourites to sort). But (often when im programming) I want to do stuff fast, so i just dump a file in some folder, forget where it is and never bother to sort it. When I first load windows and click start menu, it can take 4/5 seconds, mind you im loading lots of services at startup. Do you know any ways to make a pc load super fast? Does the start menu add alot of processing time onto startup.

sounds like you have an insane amount of background apps running after looking at the size of your start menu. I can't see your taskbar but I bet its loaded. if you haven't done it, you should probably go into msconfig and clear the checkmarks in the startup tab on stuff you don't need to start up when you boot windows. sorry if I'm stating the obvious, though. :p
