What happens if i mix DDR RAM and SDRAM?

I'm sorta young to be installing my own RAM.. BUT it's my own computer =P

So i was wondering because i have a stick of DDR and SD so i want to know if anything *consequential* could happen.. Cause i don't want to mess it up or melt the mother board =)

DDR and SDRAM are pysically different, unless you have both slots you cannot do this,

What do you mean by "both slots" my computer has 4 slots of RAM and i have 1 stick of DDR and 1 of SD and i was wondering if i put them together if the computer would malfunction

He means, that your computer prooly onlyy has a slot made for ddr, and not sd..Since sd is old the physical make is different, I think sd is way bigger then ddr, and it wont fit, unless ur mobo has an option for both, but Idont even think they make one like that..So all in all, no..

If you actually mix DDR and SDRAM modules if you board supports both slots, the DDR module may damage, meaning fry.

Can't say I have ever seen a SD/DDR mixed board..seen a DDR2/DDR, but that's about it..
