few XP problems

hello all, i just installed the windows xp service pack 2 on my PC. but everytime i try to install anything it says i cannot install due to the service pack and tells me to uninstall the service pack by the control panel. i uninstalled it and my display colors all messed up and it just didnt run right. is there a way to fix this without uninstalling it or restoring the computer?


i also have another problem that happened even before the service pack. if somthing crashes or if you open the task manager nothing at all will open again until you restart the computer. i tried virus, spyware, other scans but picked nothing up i still have the problem.

and for your second question i would use the sfc (system file checker) to find any corrupt or missing files from your OS. here is the link that will show you how to use the sfc or know as the system file checker.
