We should charge

people only ask for advice here...
Arrizx was asking for a design for a speaker enclosure there...

to designa speaker enclosure usually requires specialist software and an understanding of how advanced accoustics and sound works. now just how to opperate a ZIF socket!!!

it's a completly different ball game...

if Arrizx had said that he wanted to make a sub box and was wondering about materials, or what was the best speaker to put in it I'm sure the guy would have made suggestions Grattis, (the same as we do here when people ask for advice).

but he aked for an entier design...

if someone came in here asking for someone to design a cutom case to exacting specifications I wouldn't actually be surprised if either, nobody did it, or if someone asked to be paid to do it.

well that's what a forum is all about, it's not only a forum for getting out of a tight situation about your computer. but it's also a community where we all can relate to one another's questions like friends do. "One for all & all for one"

It would be impossible..and stupid..a few minutes of your time should not cost money..

The reason they come here is because it is FREE help...but if we did start charging..that would be pretty cool...wed make ALOT of muuhllalh

The only thing that you would achieve is absolutely nothing, there is no way people would come here and pay for advice....

There is hundreds of forums like these on the internet, including many professional places, so you start charging and they would instantly go elsewhere.

Root has it pretty down there, in what he said.........

If someone asks me to build them a computer, I usually charge 10% of the computer's cost as labor. Heh, I also write up a contract just in case they decide to be idiots and run off with a new computer without handing the money over.
60% up front, balance on completion. The machine doesn't go out the door till it's paid for.

Some forums do charge for registration. The Something Awful forums does that. Costs you $9.50 to make an account.

They also have some interesting punishments and rules, which could be used for brainstorming. My personal favorite is their Hellban, but they don't use those anymore. :p
