what is the difference between DVD+R and DVD-R?

DVD+R is a dvd disc that allows multiple layers for one disc where DVD-R only allows one layer. Multi layer DVD+R can allow extra capacity per disc than DVD-R which is why the +R cost more. The +R is newer while the -R is old. Don't get that one unless you have old legacy players.

That's true, old DVD players won't play the DVD+R discs. if i had the choice i would go with the DVD+R player / Recorder. i have a DVD+R recorder and i can fit 8hrs on one DVD+R disk, and the quality is as good as the SP record quality on a VCR.

i have non dual layer drd+r disks, so can i fit 8 hours?
