PS3 European Launch DELAYED

True..most PS3 games will be multi platform, but that doesn't mean that Sony won't get first dibs... (think GTA san andreas, came out nearly a full year on PS2 before Xbox).

I agree with Mark about the ps2, I've never had any trouble wih mine... despite it getting trown around whilst moving and travelling to and from uni in holidays etc... I guess some people were just unlucky. (either that or by the time they release the Aqua ps2 they'd figured out their manufacturing problems.

Haha, I'm afraid you can't use Grand Theft Auto as an example anymore. :D When Grand Theft Auto IV releases, the Xbox 360 will recieve it from DAY ONE. No more waiting months before a Xbox 360 release, you can buy the same game that the PS3 gets the day of release. :D Oh and don't forget the Microsoft and Rockstar made a special deal so the Xbox 360 gets downloadable content through Xbox Live. :D

hahaha, thats it tbh.

PS3 have very little in the way of single titles only on the PS3 having just lost GTA series to be shared 50-50 with the 360, 360 has the whole christmas season to enjoy all the sales. People wont wait till March, or if they do, just wait for the looming price updates.

LOL Thanks god i have a 360!

The ps2 was a very unreliable console - and its just going to happen again with the ps3, they are having massive Blue Ray diode problems which means faulty machines galore - just u wait.

Also if you think about it, they are concentrating on US and Japan, haha - they are not rewarding UK and Europe sales - so why the hell should Playstation fans stay loyal to a company which

a)is charging extortiante prices for a similar console to 360
b)dont reward consumer loyalty by releasing at their promises!

!!!!

Haha, get yourselves a 360 guys!

http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/default.stm?dynamic_vote=ON#vote_indexvote_PS3

Go to this page and look at the vote has it put you off buying a PS3

and just look!!!!

2/3 been put off!!!

I disagree. One thing, the xbox 360 had HORRIBLE launch problems, the CD-Drive in more than 75% of all the consoles did not detect the discs, plus the overheating problem they had with the xbox, and xbox 360, they even had to replace all the defective power cables in the xbox. On my side, the ps2 and ps3 is a VERY reliable console, the hardware is advance, and the year later release date of the console than the 360, that made it alot better, because that gave them alot more time to fix bugs, and all that in such...i really disagree with anyone who calls a 360 out over a PS3

360 FTW.

However you cant look at past consoles for defects in new ones. Yes, I agree the PS2 has had its share of problems. But that really doesnt matter?

The powercord was a problem.. not a bug. Bugs IMO are firmware, and in most cases software issues. And compatability issues (say backwards compatability).

IMHO... Ps3 will suck just as much as the Xbox 360 did when it came out. And sooner or later the kinks will be worked out, just as the 360's has been (with firmware updates - I think).

slightly more than 15..... ;)

Yes, that is ALOT more than 15, unlike the 360 which only had about lets see...only 10 launch titles? ok..hmm..

The overheating part was a problem with cables koby :) the power cables supposably delivered to much power, and caused them to overheat, this was with about 75% of products shipped, same with the disc tray problem.

Alot of those are TBA. Too be announced.

Those arnt launch titles. And neither are the ones that say 2008 Q1.

No..

I had mine replaced, and yes it was one of the defective ones, and no, mine never over heated.

Im saying all this from personal experience. And I beleive it was only 75% of the products that had the last firmware update..

What i was saying was CD TRAY- was a HARDWARE problem, nothing firmware can fix, and the xbox 360's OVERHEAT. i never said the xbox's did, but the power cable was a problem CAUSING overheating.

I thought we were talking about the origional Xbox....

Anyways, Im not aware of any power cable recall on the x360s.. Or a cd tray problem. Care to find a link that proves this? Id like to read it..

Wow, get your facts straight. It's a DVD drive, not a CD drive.

75% didn't detect? Umm, no. There were never any cases with the DVD drive not detecting games. Please try not to post erroneous facts please.

The Xbox 360 itself actually didn't overheat, it was the power brick. To save space, they placed the power supply outside the console. Unfortunately, most people put the power brick in poorly unventilated areas or places that didn't have enough airflow, so the power supply started overheating. That resulted in a unstable power supply, which meant unstable power was going into the console and therefore giving the console BSODs. There was never a problem with the hardware itself.

Defective power cables? I'm assuming you're talking about the power brick. There were hardly that were defective, it was just that people stuffed them in warm or tight areas so they heated up. Once people started putting it out into well ventilated areas, the Xbox 360 worked fine. Even if you had a defective power brick or console, just contact Microsoft and they'll even send you a box for you to RMA it. If you ask me, they dealed with the launch problems very efficiently, and there are almost no problems now.

The PS2 was a very reliable console, as were all of the last-gen consoles. The PS3 yet remains to be known, as it's not out yet. As for the hardware, of course it's advanced. However, I can't say the same for programming games for it. ;)

They delayed the PS3's launch from June to November, because of hardware issues. The Blu-Ray drives weren't working properly, IBM were still having problems getting good performance yields for the Cell processor, and the console as a whole was just incomplete. It doesn't mean that because Sony delayed it, it means all bugs will be nonexistent.

I can't say much for your opinion on which console is better, because it really is up to that person, but you seriously need to do some research before you arrogantly post stuff like that thinking it's true.

Haha, using the PlayStation Online Network? Their online service that is oh-so modeled after Xbox Live? :p If you pay close attention, Sony pretty much bit off of Microsoft and Nintendo. ;) The PS3 controller's six points of freedom? Wii bite-off. The controller's PS button that conveniently goes to the menu from wherever and also turns on and off the console? Xbox 360 bite-off. The PlayStation Online Network with it's very similar features like a marketplace? Xbox Live bite-off.

http://editorials.teamxbox.com/xbox/1725/PlayStation-3-Worldwide-Launch-PostPWNED/p1

That's a good article. Very entertaining too. :)

Responding to your quoting of Mark's list of PS3 games; those ARE NOT the PS3's launch titles. The majority of those are planned titles or cancelled titles.
