Im not sure if this will work, but take your old motherboard with the SATA drive and startup the windows XP setup, let it format than install the setup files. Once done shut down the computer and install your SATA drive to the K8V-SE Motherboard. Go in the BIOS and boot of the SATA drive


Will this work?
 
I dont think so, because the hard drive will try and reconise the old motherboard chipset - and if there is a different one, it will complain. How come you want to do this?
