Scratching noise...

My CPU usage is at 50 percent, when i'm not doing anything.

I thought i heard some wierd noises from my computer as well, maybe scratching, i don't know.

Normally my CPU usage was at 2 or 3 percent idle... what is wrong with my computer?

go to run -> msconfig -> startup tab

and uncheck some programs that you don't want starting up and running on your computer. this will lower the cpu usage.

as for the scrathing nose, i'm not sure about that. maybe its the hard drive reading something or your cd/dvd rom. how often do you hear it?

Seagate 250 Gig Hard drive.... 120 gigs used.

DVD burner no name.

Could it be the head scratching on the platter?

To check what's taking up your CPU usage, check in the task manager, click the Processes tab, and sort them by CPU usage.

I checked Process , and under CPU, it shows
for some reason winword.exe is using 50

It also says "system idle process 50...

Every other program is using 0, my total cpu usage is 50.

I know it's not an error because my cpu is about 10 degrees hotter than usual, so it's working harder than usual.


Winword.exe? Wierd.

How do I remove this trojan? Because I'm damn sure it is because on idle i was only using 2 or 3 percent. Now it's 50 or 60, and winword.exe is using all of it?

Same as I said in your other thread, lmao, winword.exe is Microsoft word.
