Hi, im running a pentium 4 3.4ghz CPU. I had to have a part fixed recently (audio card) on my pc, which they sent a engineer round. He noticed that my CPU was running a bit high. He altered the settings so it now at (when i looked about 1am last night) 61.5 degrees C (with the fan quite load). Is that still a bit high?

Thx

P.S Does anybody know where i can get software to read the CPU temperature

61 degrees load you say? If thats true, for a Pentium 4, thats not bad at all, as they can run well within 60 degrees. :)

If you were condifident to fit a new CPU cooler into the PC, you could get the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 for Pentium CPU's, and that'll cool way below the one you have now. Its cheap too, but cools alot better.

Get this, it should work. Speed Fan:

It also looks at your hard drive health, and allows you to change fan speeds (haha, something I advise you don't do), etc :)

kage is right. or it could be that your motherboard is reading the temperature incorrectly and it reads hotter than it is. you can download speedfan to read temps (google speedfan) or you can try intels software.
