Wireless G vs Wireless N

Hi, we are hoping to get highspeed internet via T6Broadband, and we would like to make a wireless system throughout our house. Our speeds will be 1500kbs up and 384kbs down. We will have our router upstairs and would like to connect 2 computers, 2 laptops, plus a psp. Through 2 floors of our house. Would we be fine with wireless G or would we need wireless N. Will we get a speed drop when we use wireless G?

I think Wireless G will be ok because most laptops don't support Wireless N right now.

We were also hoping to share HDs on both computers. We would have to buy a usb adaptor for the laptops. Is wireless G fast enough to share HDs?
