crap i didn't even think about driver updates.

Im not even gonna bother reading all that.

My first thought is it went into a physical memory dump. Then restarted.

Video card overheated due to outdated drivers, and it auto restarted.

see up there Ronco, my last post, use that link, you'll need to identify your chipset by the looks of that site, they list by chipset not m/board. I'd even investigate the bios updates in case your problem is bios related.

huh weird, i can't find my model anywhere on that site. in the BIOS or the drivers listing. they have my chipset, ATI Xpress 200 but not the RS480 model for the drivers and for the BIOS they don't have my MS-7184 model. but thanks anyway guys. i'll keep looking.
