I rang Telstra this morning, told them I was changing to Internode because their similar plan (Internode 512/128 8GB, shaped - Telstra 512/128 10GB shaped) was $30 a month cheaper, ended up scoring 1500/256 at the 512/128 price ($69.95/month with bundled phone) for 12 months, nearly the same as the Internode pricing, kind of pleased about that.
The ISP that work goes through is Peopletelecom, I think what plan I said we're on was wrong.
We're either on
1500/256 kbps (Flat rate - slowed down to 64k after download quota is exceeded):
1500k Easy 10 GB of Downloads $69.95
1500k Plus 25 GB of Downloads $79.95
1500k Power 35 GB of Downloads $89.95
Or
1500/256 kbps
1500k Easy 10 GB 0.5 ¢ per MB $69.95
1500k Plus 25 GB 0.5 ¢ per MB $79.95 - I think this is the one we are currently on.
1500k Power 35 GB 0.5 ¢ per MB $89.95
who's the daddy?.. this is from my desk at work...
I might stay a little late after everyone else who is sharing the connection has gone home and see if I can beat that...I also got a none to shabby 1372/308K down/up from my machine at home (whilst I was using a remote desktop to connect to it, (i.e most of the bandwidth was taken iup displaying my desktop, not being used on the test....). I'll have to try testing again when I'm actually in front of the machine for a real result.
edit -
just waiting till some people finish their lunch break and trying again dramatically improoved the speeds!!
