Ok. Im building a new gaming rig and I need some help on what works good together and what doesn't. Right now this is what I have picked to build it.
Processor-AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Orleans 2000Mhz HT Socket AM2 Processor.
Computer Case-Gigabyte 3D Aurora Black Aluminum ATX full tower.
RW Drives-Lite-on 16x DVD-R DVD Burner Black.
Internal Hard Drive-Western Digital Caviar SE16 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s
Motherboard-ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 Socket 939 ULi M1695 ATX AMD
Power Supplies-Apevia (Aspire) ATX12v/EPS12v 680w
And I'm thinking about putting in 1Gb RAM and an NVIDIA graphincs card (Don't know whichc graphics card yet but I know it'll be NVIDIA).
If you have any suggestions please tell me I would really like to hear them.
Also could you please tell me if these things are compatible with each other?
I would really appreciate it.

Looks good to me. If you can afford it, 2GB of memory would be better for a gaming rig. Some of the new games like BF2 really need the extra memory to play well. Maybe something in a 7900GT or 7900GTX would be a good choice in video cards.

You need to choose an AM2 socket motherboard because the one you have written is a socket 939 and will therefore not be compatible with your choice of processor.

If you REALLY have to go AMD, then AM2 is your best bet. Other than that, Intel right now has the performance crown for performance/price. AND PLEASE do yourself a favor and get a better psu. Get the Fortron AX-500A. 2GB of RAM is nice for comptures now, almost a standard for any gaming rig. DDR2 in 2GB flavors is cheap, especially modules using Elpedia chips. Micron D9GMH and D9GKX are a little more expensive since they are used in high end modules.

Overclocking is where you make the cpu/gpu run faster than rated speeds. Its a completely different story. Quite complicated if you want good oc'ing results. With overclocking, you NEED good psu.

Well, if youre making a gaming rig... than you want a MoBo with SLI compatibility, as well as a video card with SLI... but my advice to you is wait until next year to spend the big bucks on a video card because Direct X 10 will be coming out - from what Ive read - Q1 of 2007, and there will be new video cards made to support DX10. The currect video cards will still work fine, but you will not be able to use all the features of DX10.

Just my opinion.
