i H.A.T.E cars with red interior. they hurt my eyes. lol. my dad's '95 escort smells like dog.

But yeah, sound system is about the only option. Because its interchangable. Keep the stock stuff, and upgrade what you have, get a small 10' sub just for some extra bump, with all Focal speakers.
If/when you sell the car, take the stereo stuff with you.
Seriously, the car is so old, and is so gutless, you wont keep it to terribly long. Perfect car to begin with, and also learn about stereo stuff.
BTW, remember to amp the speakers

i don't plan on putting alot of money, when i said rims i was talking about stock escort GT rims for a cheap price, not like 200 bucks per rim.
as far as sound system i have pioneer speakers and a 500 watt jensen(sp?) amp. not great but better than stock.
@boardordi: i can only paint the car red or black....it's got red interior...
@dev: like i said i don't plan on putting any body kits, muffler tips, spoilers or any shit like that. just things to make it look more origional.

@biglu: i'm not dissing 1.9L but in escorts, the LX and standard models are 88HP1.9L SOHC and the GT's are 127HP 1.8L DOHC so i happen to be with the worse 1

why are the tyres different sizes? the actual hubs/rimms look the same size... but you have low profile tryes on the front, regular tyres on the back?...
it looks like the stereo that you currently have isn't all that bad...
but as Arrizx said, you won't regret money you spend on a stereo since you can take it all with you...
Quick question... if you don't want to put a lot of money into the car... can you sew (like with a sewing machine). or do you know anyone that can? -making a seat cover wouldn't be too hard! and you could get some fairly decent faux leather (of push the boat out and get real leather)...
I think that your first *upgrade* should be to cover those hideaous seats!
or whilst you're at the scrap yard getting those rimms see if you can find a car like your to swap the seats with...
most junk yads will happily sell you something at a very reduced cost if you're basically giving them the same thing in return. (I mean they'lll swap you at t aslight cost cause you're getting nicer seats.

root are you talking about the front, back, or all the seats? the back has a stain on the right side, but the front are in good shape besides the silver look on the top from fade.
See the only thing is that i don't want to put seat covers on the car if they don't match it at all and look misplaced. black seat covers MIGHT work but with almost everything red it's hard 2 get a match. i do know some1 who sews so i could find out.
about the tires: i have no frekin clue!
the tires came like that. the "wheels" are the same size....13" but yes the front tires have a lower prifile by alot....looks pretty messed ^. i am thinking i will get new tires with a "profile" somewhere between the back and front sizes.
speakers: i am thinking of upgrading speakers....get a 10" enclosed box sub and maybe somewhere between 500-1000 watt amp, and have the subwoofer have it's own amp. i don't want to rattle the car though, so i am not going 2 get a huge sub, plus i will have the whoofer toned down quite a bit anyways so thats not a problem. Only other thing is that i don't want to sacrafice much room because i do LAN Parties alot so i need a lot of room to carry a computer or 2.
